Arturo Reyes is a Mexican artist currently living and developing projects in Europe.

Arturo was born in a small sunny mestizo village lost in the northeastern Mexican prairie called San Blas in the municipality of Loreto, Zacatecas, Mexico. Arturo spent his entire childhood in San Blas. Subsequently his father- following a naive quest for 'better' work conditions in the big city and further education for his numerous children, mainly girls- established himself in Mexico City; Arturo is the oldest of nine girls and three boys- and the whole family ended up in Netzahualcoyotl City, in the outskirts of Mexico City. Therefore we can say that Arturo is Netzacatecano. During Arturo's childhood in San Blas, he enjoyed very much the remnants of the Wichol-Chichimeca mythology and its visual culture. Wichols-Chichimecas are the indigenous population of that region. It is not hard to believe that from his early experiences with the Wichol-Chichimeca culture and a radical secularism, at the time he was growing, Arturo decided to be an artist and a social reformer (Some of his sisters also took the arduous and cathartic path for art)
